Hence, moving forward for the academic year 2022 – 2023 and in order to continue supporting our community, Ta’leem Academy is offering a full online curriculum.

Our Mission
Ta'leem Academy exists to nurture the love of Allah (SWT) in the hearts of children and youth , one family at a time. We teach Qur'anic Arabic (Fuṣḥā) and Islamic studies rooted in the Quran and Sunnah, offering our community's young Muslims a foundation that is both spiritually grounded and practically lived. Our classrooms are places where knowledge and belonging grow together.
Our History
Ta'leem Academy was founded in 2015 by Sr. Nargis Salman, a certified Canadian teacher with over 30 years of experience in education. Her vision is simple: to make quality Islamic education accessible and affordable for families in our community. What began as a single classroom has grown into a multi-level program with a dedicated team of qualified teachers. Every step of that growth has been guided by the same commitment: to give children a strong Islamic foundation and to support the parents who are raising them.
Our Core Values
Everything we do comes back to a few beliefs we hold close: Make the deen accessible, teaching Islam as something lived and practiced in everyday life. Meet each child where they are, taking the time to understand and support them. Build belonging, creating classrooms where children feel safe, seen, and free to grow. Guide with integrity, offering honest, grounded guidance while staying accountable to Allah (SWT). Root everything in love, reminding every child that Allah loves them.
Our Team
OUR STAFF
The teaching staff at Ta’leem Academy are qualified and dedicated with years of teaching experience. They are compassionate and creative with valuable teaching experience. They have a sound understanding of Islamic Studies and cater to the needs and queries of students at individual level.
Salman Rizwan
Mr. Salman is an engineer by profession and Co-Founder of Ta’leem Academy. He has been teaching Qur’anic Arabic (with permission) in the GTA since 2011. He is a graduate of the Madina University Arabic Language Course and a student of Dr Abdur Rahim. He also offers programs for Quranic linguistic analysis and language study.
Nargis Salman
Ms. Nargis is the Co-Founder of Ta’leem Academy. She has been an educationalist for 30 years., and has been a certified teacher in Canada for 20 years. She has previously worked as a Teacher, Program Coordinator and a Principal. She has a love for the Arabic language and has been busy teaching it since. Her goal is to enrich the lives of the students by nurturing the Love of Allah (SWT) in their hearts.
Shermeen Khan
Ms. Shermeen is the Academic Coordinator for Ta’leem Academy. She teaches Qur’an and the basics of Islam to the young students with passion and love so they grow up to have a strong belief. Her teaching involves hands-on activities and lots of arts and crafts.
Shahnaz Ahmed
Ms. Shahnaz is the Qur’an teacher who facilitates students with the correct way to recite the Holy Quran. She also helps them memorize Surahs while developing an understanding of its message.
Sarah Tariq
Ms. Sarah is an experienced teacher with a background in people and cultural management. She strives to make her students stay attentive to critical details, communicate effectively, and exceed their personal standards.
Sumayyah Khalid
Ms. Sumayyah is a passionate teacher who has a strong background in Islamic Studies and in Islamic education. She makes her student’s experience worthwhile and positive and strives to implement that in the classroom.
Nida Saleem
Ms. Nida facilitates learning with examples and experiments. Her goal is to assist students to connect to life the way Allah (SWT) has intended, in simplicity.
Haleema Rashed
Ms. Haleema is an experienced and passionate teacher with a strong Islamic background. She strives to develop a connection between her students and the subject. She inculcates positive energy among her students and teaches them with utmost care.
Laamiah Bari
She is an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher with several years of experience supporting students and learning environments. She is passionate about Islamic education and strives to help students stay engaged, build confidence, and develop a love for Islamic learning.
Shafaq Ameen
Ms Shafaq is a dedicated teacher and public speaker known for her impactful work with teenagers across various Muslim organizations. She focuses on nurturing teens. Her teaching approach goes beyond simply delivering lessons—she emphasizes practical application of lessons.
